About Studio Verbouw
Many people who are renovating recognize this: you start off full of enthusiasm, but along the way, so much comes your way that the renovation feels like a second job. You make hundreds of choices you've never considered before. Contractors ask questions you can't answer. And the closer you get to the start, the greater the uncertainty becomes: am I doing this right?
Studio Verbouw was founded based on precisely that experience.
We are Lucas van Berkel and Jorick van der Panne, a two-person studio that makes renovations manageable and humane again. Not a distant consultancy, but a team that stands by you and thinks along with you as if it were our own renovation.

We combine design, technology, and execution into a single, logical approach. We ensure your ideas are clearly written , technically feasible, and fit within your budget and schedule. From floor plans to technical E&W drawings and finishing schedules, from material selection to on-site coordination: everything is focused on peace of mind, clarity, and a result that works in everyday use.

We manage both residential renovations and commercial projects, including medical centers, childcare facilities, and practices. In all these projects, we find that clients primarily need someone who understands the process, thinks ahead, and is aware of the pitfalls. Someone who can explain what's important to decide now and what can wait. Someone who translates technical jargon into everyday language.

Our story
I'm Lucas van Berkel, founder of Studio Verbouw. With years of experience as a project manager in the interior design industry, from shops to hospitality concepts, I learned how crucial a smart layout and good technical coordination are to the final result. During my own renovation, I realized how little guidance there actually is for people without a background in construction. You have to make a huge number of decisions in a short time, and you often don't know exactly what to look for. That realization led to the founding of Studio Verbouw.
Back then, I called Jorick almost daily, a good friend with a background in hospitality and customer experience. We enthusiastically discussed every new project, every floor plan idea, and every technical challenge. His experience designing and organizing public spaces aligned so well with my way of working that collaboration became almost effortless. It felt logical to join forces and further develop Studio Verbouw together.
Today, we're a two-person studio that combines technology, design, and guidance. We help both private and commercial clients get a handle on their renovations. We do this with clear drawings, realistic advice, and guidance that's both technically and aesthetically sound. We like to keep things down-to-earth and personal. No complicated details, just clarity, structure, and choices that suit your needs and budget. Our goal is for you to renovate with confidence and be proud of the final result.
